Here's something I found!

Stephanie over at "Steph's Stampin Stuff" is celebrating her blogiversary with some wonderful blog candy! She is very talented and has lots of accomplishments to speak of - and she has only been stamping for such a short time. Check out her site and all her awesome cards!

Congrats Steph and best wishes for another wonderful year!

Thankful Thursday #20

For today's "Thankful Thursday" post, I am thankful for:

"The completion of the Birthday Invitations!"

I don't know why I always do this to myself, but I always wait until the last minute to make/send out the birthday party invitations. I have to rush around and think of what I am going to make and then mass produce them. On Monday, I thought I had better get busy and do something because these babies have to be in the mail on Friday.

We are having a double birthday party for Ben, who will be 3, and Charlie, my nephew who is turning 1. You would think that I would make it easy on myself and do something really simple, but no (enter roll of eyes) I had to make a really time consuming card! You will have to wait until next week before you see these absolutely adorable invites, they go out tomorrow as planned. I will say that I think I out did myself with these.  With all that said, I am truly thankful that they came together so easily and that they are ready to go - a whole day before I wanted them to.

Feel free to leave a comment on what you are thankful for - I would love to know! Until next time, take a moment to think of something you are thankful for, then smile!

Another inspired card

I got a card in the flood swap that I joined and I thought that I would try to mimic the beauty of it. Mary made this card and I absolutely loved it! The colors, the layout, everything!  So since I didn't have want to replicate the card exactly, I chose a different stamp set and went on my way. Here is my rendition of her card.

My "My Version" card details can be found HERE on SCS.

Stamps: Polka Dot & Paisley and Everyday Flexible Phrases
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Garden Green and Whisper White
Inks: Not Quite Navy and Garden Green
Accessories: Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon and adhesive

I like Mary's card better. Something about the canvas background that really makes the card.

Sister's Purse Color Challenge #16

For this week's "Sister's Purse Color Challenge" Becky got to pick the purse to showcase. When I first saw it I didn't know what to think, but it has grown on me. You can add this to your purse collection for only $170. The details can be found on eBags.com, or specifically HERE.

Color to be used this week:
Tangerine
Tango, Creamy Caramel
 and Very Vanilla

You can add a neutral if you like, but it's not
necessary.

I am totally in LOVE with Becky's card for this weeks challenge. She had wanted me to add something to the top, but I just couldn't do it because I thought it was so pretty just the way it was. You can find the beautiful card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Creamy Caramel and
Very Vanilla
Inks: Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Orange Ribbon, Dimensionals and adhesive

I had trouble, once again, with the color combo. I just could not get it to work out the way I had envisioned it in my head. It is definitely not one of my favorite cards. In fact, I think it may be my least favorite of all. I think I thought that if I kept adding to it, it would eventually turn out to be wonderful. If I get a chance I may work with this color combo again. What do you think?

You can find my "Tangerine Note" card on SCS HERE.

Stamps: Fresh Cuts
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Creamy Caramel,
Very Vanilla and Hawaiian Papaya DSP
Inks: Tangerine Tango and Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Circle Punches, Small Oval Punch,
Rhinestone Brad, Photo holder & Brad, Dimensionals and adhesive

Want to play along?: Leave us a comment on this post where your card is located. If uploading to SCS please use the keyword SPCC16 (Gallery HERE) for this weeks entry, so we can find your card quickly. We will pick our favorites and post them with next weeks challenge. Should be lots of fun!

Change it up Tuesday #21

"Change it up Tuesday" #21 is not another Valentine's day card, even though I wanted it to be. I decided that I needed a notecard, so I remade one that had no stamping on it - could it be I did NO STAMPING! Let me tell you that I felt so lazy after it was done. I really liked the simplicity of the first card and I thought the colors were alright. I really had no choice since it was for my "Sister's Purse Color Challenge #5", so this time I decided that since I could choose the colors I wanted, I just used one of my favorite - Kiwi Kiss. What do you think of the new one?

My old card - "Purse Challenge #5" details can be found on SCS HERE

My "Change it up Tuesday" card - "Purse Challenge #5 - Take 2" details can be found on SCS HERE.

Even though there was no stamping on it I really love how the "Change it up Tuesday" card turned out.

* * Congrats to my blog buddy  Tegan over at Swiftly Created. I will send you last weeks "Change it up Tuesday" card real soon! * *

How to play: Take a card you previously created and only change the colors used. The layout and the stamped images should remain the same. Then leave me a comment where your cards are located or if you upload to SCS use keyword CIUT21 (Gallery HERE). For fun, I will pick from those commenting (with or without a card) on Monday (2/9) and I will send you my "Change it up Tuesday" creation. Have fun and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

ATS Challenge #29

I have completed another past challenge from the All That Scraps Design Team. This one is #29 - a color challenge. I had lots of fun with this one. I have seen many cards made by using the circles for a "texturized" background. I love they way this technique looks and I have always wanted to try it - so a punching I went! I printed the words on the Soft Sky "There's no sneaking around it..." and put the bear from the Bear Hugs stamp set just barely peaking out like he is sneaking up on you. The inside it says "I know it's your birthday!" I think it turned out really cute!

My "Sneaky Bear" card can be found HERE on SCS.

Stamps: CC Designs Bear Hugs
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla
Inks: Timber Brown StazOn and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Circle punch and adhesive

ATS Challenge #4

am slowly playing catch up with all the All That Scraps Design Team Challenges. Here is my submission for Challenge #4 - A Gate Card. When I first saw this challenge I thought "a what?" So I looked at the examples and got on SCS to find a tutorial - once I did that I thought "ok, I can do this.  So here is how my very first - and not the last gate card turned out.  I LOVE this card!

This is the outside. I used my Scallop Rectangle Nestibilities to make a Bashful Blue and the Certainly Celery panels. Then I used two different sizes of hole punches to make the "see through"  spots. I added the ribbon tab to use as a pull and finished it off with the adorable monkey from the Summertime Fun stamp set. The second picture is of the inside. It says "The day just floated by. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!"
I wrote the words in Word and used the color values for the Bashful Blue color that I found from StampMonkeys. You can find it HERE. I hope you like the card as much as I do!

You can find my "Floating Monkey" card on SCS HERE.

Stamps: CC Design Summertime Fun

Bashful Blue and Cutie Pie DSP
Inks: Black StazOn, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Certianly Celery,

Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Stapler, Blender Pen, Dimensionals and adhesive
