Thankful Thursday #32

It's late, I know, but I wanted to get in a post for "Thankful Thursday". Today I am thankful for:

"Fun new things from Stampin' Up!"

Last week I got a box full of all the new sneak peak items I ordered and just today finally got to thoroughly go through the box. I told you I have been busy - everyday I passed it by and thought - I really need to get in there and play with all the new and exciting things, but I had this to do and then this came up - you get the idea. Well today I had just a few minutes to spare and I sat down with a new stamp set and made 3 cards in about 30 minutes! I love when that happens! There was no thinking involved, just me and my cute stamps hanging out like old times - IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! So today I am thankful for my box of goodies from Stampin' Up and I am thankful for the fun I had creating. For those of you who were able to get the sneak peak items - what is your favorite and what do you think of the new In Colors?

Thankful Thursday #31

I must admit, I have been thankful for this all week:

"BANAGRAMS"

You are all saying "WHAT?" now right? I came across this game online and thought that it would be a great learning tool for Alexa to teach her how to spell, but little did I know that when Brad and I sat down to play the actual game that it would be so much fun and so addicting. Brad and I love to play Scrabble, but with the two kids running around it was hard to get a game in, also it would drag on forever. This game is over in about 20 minutes and keeps you alert. The perfect two player game (up to eight can play with the set). You can find it on Amazon - HERE or we picked up ours at Target for around $15. I am thankful that Brad and I have found such a fun game that is quick enough that the kids don't realize we are playing. What's your favorite game to play?

Thankful Thursday #30

Sorry for the late post. The day got away from me and I wanted to post my "Thankful Thursday" before heading to bed. I am thankful for:

"Some yummy Ice Cream"

Tonight, Brad went out as I was putting the kids to bed and brought home ice cream - not just any ice cream - Marble Slab Creamery Birthday Cake with Sprinkles ice cream. I love this ice cream and it was such a sweet treat after the craziness of the day. I took my ice cream and sat in front of the TV for some me time - it was wonderful! What's the treat that makes you drool?

Side note: Thanks to all who gave me vacation places to think about. We have yet to decide what, when and where we will relax, but I will keep you informed of the plans.

Thankful Thursday #29

This week I am thankful for:

"The Number 3"

For those of you who are confused, this is the number of days until my wonderful hubby gets home from HAWAII! Yes, he went there without us, but it was for a conference and we figured it would be hard to get the kids adjusted to the time change for such a short stay and that the plane ride there would be too long for our rambunctious BEN. I will admit I was a little bummed when Brad left - not just because I was home with our wonderful kiddies, but the thought of him enjoying the tropical weather and the beach without us just didn't seem fair. It was then that I realized that he would be spending most of his time in a conference center - HA HA! I am excited that he will be home soon and I hope that he is enjoying the wonderful weather and a few minutes relaxing on the beach - when he gets home we will start planning a family vacation for us all to enjoy! What's your favorite vacation spot? I need ideas.

Thankful Thursday #28

I am having a blah day today and when I was thinking about what to write for my "Thankful Thursday" post I realized that I really couldn't think of anything that I was really thankful for today (of course besides the obvious things). I think we all have days where it just seems like nothing really stands out and we just kind of go with the flow and then you realize that it's late and you wonder what happened to the day. So I decided to change this week's "Thankful Thursday" into a "Cheer me up Thankful Thursday".  Here is what makes me laugh every time I read it.

"A good comic"

I guess I am an old fogey at heart! I love this comic strip - "Pickles" and I look forward to the paper just to see what trouble or hysterics Earl is causing. This particular one was from the Sunday Comic a few weeks ago and it cracks me up every time I think about it. Now just a side note - I had to read it twice just to get, but boy - it's a good one! You can click HERE and it will take you to the actual site to read it better. What's one of your favorite comics?

Thankful Thursday #27

Today was supposed to be rainy and yucky outside all day, but I was surprised when it was 5:00pm and it was still beautiful out. So today I am thankful for:

"the extended nice day"

Although as I am typing, it is pouring rain, I am so thankful that we were able to enjoy the nice weather even though it was predicted to be yucky. Will those weather people ever get it right? Here's to a great day - as tomorrow we are getting more rain!

Thankful Thursday #26

Today we are thankful for:

"Haircuts"

Although you can't really tell from the picture, Alexa and Ben went in to the salon their hair cut today. They were so excited about it! I usually cut their hair at home and about twice a year for Alexa and once a year for Ben they get to go sit in the salon chair and have someone else do it. They are both very good about sitting still, so it made it easy on the stylist. Alexa's hair is a little above her shoulders and Ben's is buzzed down to about a half inch - nice Springtime dos. So today they are thankful for going to get their haircuts and I am thankful that I didn't have to do it!

Thankful Thursday #25

I am thankful today for not one, but two things:

"A Babysitter"
and
"Date Night"

Tonight Brad & I have got a babysitter lined up and are taking a MUCH needed Date Night. I am unsure exactly what we are doing as we have yet to really decide, but I do know that I will be having a quiet dinner accompanied by a wonderful man! What do you do when you have a night away from the little ones?

* * Edited to add - Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time! We enjoyed our dinner at Ko-Fusion, a sushi restaurant, and a nice brisk walk into and out of Target! It was lots of fun hanging out with the just hubby! * *

Thankful Thursday #24

Even though it was a bit chaotic today, I found myself appreciating and being thankful for:

"Laughter"

Especially the laughter of my children. Alexa and Ben had a few friends over this afternoon to play and they all got so tickled over "Knock Knock" jokes. It wasn't a regular type of "Knock Knock" joke, it was ones that they were making up. For example - Knock Knock, Who's There, Silly Socks - and they would all fall on the floor laughing hysterically. I sat back and just listened to them laughing without any other care in the world. Sometimes laughter makes everything seem so much better.  What made you laugh today?

Thankful Thursday #23

Another late post - the day has gotten away from me once again. I have been busy with laundry and working on some swap cards amongst all the other crazy things that occur on a daily basis around here and realized that today is "Thankful Thursday" day. So for this edition, I am thankful for:

"A little quiet time"

Brad has taken the kiddies and I have a little quiet time to myself. It seems like I can never get enough of that type of time, although I love my kids and my wonderful hubby dearly, there is something to say for the quietness while they are away. I only need about a hour to regroup, then I miss them like crazy! So, I am thankful for a little quiet time - and now I am off to find out what fun those three cuties are up to.

Just a little side note - the image is located on a church website. I love the picture and here is the link if you want to check it out - HERE.

Thankful Thursday #22

Today I am thankful for:

"Kids doing their chores"

We have started working with the kids to get them to help out around the house with their own chores. We have had our ups and downs, but today was an EXCELLENT day! They were very helpful. Their favorite chore is throwing the dirty clothes over the banister and kicking them down the stairs. I took a picture, but decided to post the one of Alexa picking up the toys instead. No one wants to see my skivvies, that's for sure! So today I am thankful for the kids happily doing their chores without any incidents.

Thankful Thursday #21

It has been one of those days! I was super busy at work this morning and it seems like the day was a blur of one activity after another. It is now 11:00pm and I can honestly say that I am thankful for:

"BEDTIME"

So I will end it with that.  Good night all!

Thankful Thursday #20

For today's "Thankful Thursday" post, I am thankful for:

"The completion of the Birthday Invitations!"

I don't know why I always do this to myself, but I always wait until the last minute to make/send out the birthday party invitations. I have to rush around and think of what I am going to make and then mass produce them. On Monday, I thought I had better get busy and do something because these babies have to be in the mail on Friday.

We are having a double birthday party for Ben, who will be 3, and Charlie, my nephew who is turning 1. You would think that I would make it easy on myself and do something really simple, but no (enter roll of eyes) I had to make a really time consuming card! You will have to wait until next week before you see these absolutely adorable invites, they go out tomorrow as planned. I will say that I think I out did myself with these.  With all that said, I am truly thankful that they came together so easily and that they are ready to go - a whole day before I wanted them to.

Thankful Thursday #19

For this weeks Thankful Thursday post I am truly thankful for:

"A little girl and all the things she makes me!"

Everyday Alexa makes me not one, not two, but at least three or more cards. She brings them to me all slobbered up in an envelope and waits patiently as I open them. Every single one says on the inside: "MOM I (HEART) U FROM ALEXA". After they have been opened and I give her a huge smile, she stands there waiting for a big hug and kiss. It just warms my heart! She is growing up so fast! I am so extremely thankful for such a special little girl -  who by the way, is turning into quite the card maker.

Thankful Thursday #18

For today's "Thankful Thursday" I am thankful for:

"A Good TV Show"

Brad and I don't get to watch to much television together. The kids usually get to watch what they want or it is off and we are doing other things or one of us likes a show and the other one doesn't - you know how it is. But every once in a while a show comes along that Brad and I decide to watch together. "How I met your Mother" is one of those shows. It meets the requirements of a funny adult show and it's just 30 minutes in length - a perfect combo to say the least.  We tape it and then the object is to find a time without the kids to watch it together. When those cards fall into place, we catch up with the "gang" and laugh hysterically. It's great and I am so thankful for the time with my wonderful hubby and a totally hillarious TV show. What are you watching together?

Thankful Thursday - #17

Today I am extremely thankful for:

"Sunshine"

If you have been tuning in the last couple of days, I have been complaining about how much the gloomy weather makes all of my pictures look terrible. Well - today the sun is shining in all it's glory! Not only does it make all my pictures look better, it makes me feel better. I am so a warm weather type of girl and all coldness of winter makes me glum. So - here's to the sunshine and the warmth it gives! If you get a chance scroll down to see all the wonderful photos I took this afternoon of my cards!

Thankful Thursday - #16

As I sit here blog surfing I realized that I needed to post my "Thankful Thursday"entry. Lately, as the weather has turned chilly I find myself indulging in what I am thankful for this week at least twice a day. I am thankful for:

"A cup of Hot Tea"

Every time I get a little bit of a chill I find myself running to the tea kettle to start boiling the water and then I find my favorite mug. As for deciding about which tea to have, that hasn't been a difficult choice yet. I just bought a box of Sweet Dreams Herb Tea by Bigelow. I got this tea to have in the evening because it is suppose to help you relax and unwind after a long day. The night I tried it, I was hooked.  This tea contains a mix of chamomile, hibiscus, peppermint and spearmint leaves and it has rose and orange blossoms as well. It's not too minty or flowery in taste - very subtle and not too strong. A perfect cup of tea every time - in my opinion - and I have at least two cups a day. I asked my hubby if that makes me English?

Thankful Thursday - #15

This week's Thankful Thursday is a special Halloween edition. We are all thankful for:

"A Theme Night!"

So in honor of Halloween, we decided to do our little bit of Halloween fun tonight, since tomorrow we will be busy with Trick or Treating. We got Jack-o-lantern Pizza for dinner and carved a pumpkin before dessert of chocolate chip cookies. We had so much fun! Hopefully we will do this every Halloween. What's your favorite Halloween tradition?

Just for fun - check out this link HERE to carve your own pumpkin.

Thankful Thursday - #14

For this week "Thankful Thursday" I can honestly say that I am thankful for:

"an empty laundry basket"

This only occurs every once in a while around here and today is that day. It is so awesome to finally have all the laundry done and put away and it is nice to see that these things can be accomplished -  if only for a few hours, er - minutes (I do have two small kiddies).

Thankful Thursday - #13

I just realized that I did not post a "Thankful Thursday" last week - UGH! I will tell you the reason why it didn't get posted - we had a DATE night. Brad and I got a sitter and went to dinner and had a really good time. We really don't go out by ourselves enough - so with that explanation, I hope you understand.

Now onto this week's "Thankful Thursday"! We are thankful for:

"Homemade COOKIES!"

Butterscotch ones in fact. Who doesn't love those yummy Nestle Toll House morsel cookies?! Alexa, Ben and I congregated around the oven waiting for the timer to go off so we could demolish the evidence before Brad got home.

Here are the action shots:

YUMMY!!
