Sister's Purse Color Challenge #27's and ATSDTC44

This week's Sister's Purse Color Challenge - #27 - is similar to the one from a couple weeks ago I realize. After a while the purses start to look the same, so I may have to change the color challenge to the "Sister's SHOE color challenge" soon. The purse this week is this Zebra Striped Jaqueline Bag and can be found on Baghaus.com or HERE for a direct link. They have just a black and white one as well, but I like the splash of red on this one. It can be yours for $55.95.

Colors to be used this week:
Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White

You can add a neutral if you like, but it's not necessary.

I combined my color challenge with a challenge the Design Team over at All That Scraps had last week. They challenged us to use microbeads (#44) on a card and not being a fan of the messy stuff (aka glitter, embossing powders, flock etc) I tend to just let those go. But I was inspired to make the dress and hair bow on this Angel Anya look like sequins with the microbeads. In person this card is lovely - there has been a lack of sunshine here so all my photos look terrible. I will try to get a better one later on when the sun decides to show itself. Other than the microbeads, it's pretty simple. Enjoy!!

You can find my "Sequin Anya" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Angel Anya and Print Pattern background
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White
Inks: Black StazOn, Real Red, Barely Banana and Blush Blossom and Copic C1
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Flower Ribbon Slide, Microbeads, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals and adhesive

* * Becky has sent me a stack of cards for the challenges. As soon a I get through them and figure out what is what I will upload them to share! I am so excited that she has decided to join the crafting world again! * *

Want to play along?: Leave us a comment on this post where your card is located. If uploading to SCS please use keyword SPCC27 (Gallery HERE) for this weeks entry, so we can find your card quickly. We will pick our favorites and post them with next weeks challenge. Should be lots of fun!

ATS Challenge #45

This week the challenge from the Design Team over at All That Scraps was to use buttons (ATSDT45). This is one embellishment I always forget about, so I set out to purposefully use buttons on my card. When I got to my stamp room - I was stumped. I flipped through my collection of CC Design stamps and after the third time I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I know - a Christmas card - but those ornaments shouted out to me to be made with BUTTONS! It was no "small" feat to find such teensy buttons in my stash, but I think they made the card really cute. Enjoy!

All That Scraps Anniversary Challenge

My favorite online store All That Scraps is celebrating their 2nd Anniversary and they issued a challenge to use one of the CC Designs, AmyR Stamps or Cookie Crumbs images as the main focal point on your project to win a FREE stamp set. You all know that I am totally in LOVE with all the CC Designs stamps so this challenge was a no brainer for me. I would love to WIN one - that's for sure. If you are interested in participating you can find on the details HERE on the All That Scraps blog. Just a note - you can find all these stamps on sale right now. They are also releasing new ones on Monday night! I can hardly contain myself!

Here is the card I am submitting. A very simple Easter card to show off the extremely cute bunny in an egg from the CC Designs Hunny Bunny set. I wanted to make a frame to show off the bunny and I ended up alternating the scallop edged layers. I thought that they were a little plain so I added the piercing just to spruce it up a bit. Then I colored the little cute with my markers, added the ribbon and there you go! A very cute, in my opinion, Easter Card. I hope you enjoy it!

You can find my "Bunny Egg" card on SCS - HERE.

ATS Challenge Card #42

I got to play along with the All That Scraps Design Team again for their Challenge #42 - a white on white challenge. I usually don't have a problem with the amount of white space on cards, but, boy this one drove me nuts! I tried this cute little Raincoat Girl from CC Designs Gingersnaps Spring Thing! stamp set directly on the white cardstock base and thought that it was missing something, but when I reached for another piece of white cardstock to try something different I found that I had NONE - YIKES! I decided that I would try to salvage the card by adding the scalloped border of YoYo Yellow cardstock. I hope that it still fits into the challenge - like I said, I found this one a little difficult. I added crystal effects to the rain gear to give it the "plastic" look that they have. All in all, I love how this card turned out! Enjoy!

ATS Challenge #41

This is post 1 of 2 today - so scroll down to see today's "Change it Up Tuesday".

I was able to play along with last weeks All That Scraps Design Challenge #41 - use ribbon, before they issued the next challenge - HORRAY! I really wanted to use the new Spring Things stamp set for this. I love this little girl with the bunny ears - it reminds me of this picture I took of Alexa when she was two for Easter. Isn't she adorable?!

For some reason when I saw that the challenge was to use ribbon I thought that the fence would be so pretty with a bunch of ribbon decorating it. I cut out and tied ribbon around every other post - I did have yellow and green ribbon on there for a split second, but decided that I just liked the pink and went with that. The cute little girl has a paper pieced shirt using the DSP that I used as the background. I wanted to find paper similar to the shirt that Alexa was wearing, but I just didn't have anything that matched. The girl and the fence folds down and and that is where I will write the note - I already know who I am sending this too! Enjoy!

Sister's Purse Color Challenge #22 & ATS Challenge #33

For this weeks "Sister's Purse Color Challenge" Becky picked this purse. I thought it was funny because I am adding to our list and she sent me some of her favorites and this one was one of them. Since we make the list so far in advance it is hard to remember what we've done andwhat we haven't - so it is kind of a surprise for us each week as well.  So on the the purse information. You can find this cute spring bag on Baghaus.com, or HERE for a direst link. Right now they have a sale on the same style of purse only different color for $25 for a savings of $45 - WOWSERS!

Color  to be used this week:
Only Orange, YoYo Yellow,
Pink Pirouette and
Whisper White

You can add a neutral if you like,
but it's not necessary.

I once again dove into the stash of images that Rachel sent me. I am so in love with all the CC Designs Stamp Sets! It doesn't seem to matter what Christine and the other gals comes up with, I feel I have to have them all.  I try hard to limit myself, oh but it is so difficult - hence why I asked Rachel to send me some of her images! Go check out all the cute things over at the All That Scraps online store!

For this week's card I used this cute little angel on a cloud from CC designs stamp set Gingersnaps Hey Cupid! The card is pretty simple - I just colored and highlighted the image, cut it out with my Coluzzle cutting system and put it all together. I paper pierced the YoYo Yellow oval and did the faux stitching technique - which was a challenge by the All That Scraps Design Team(#33) and used my corner rounder punch to give the Only Orange oval the scallops. For a finishing touch I put glitter on her wings, which you can see on the up-close picture. Alexa loves this card - she wants me to make another one just for her! Enjoy!

You can find my "Sweet Angel" card on SCS HERE.

ATS Challenge #40

This is the first of a four posts today, so be sure to scroll down and see them all. Over the weekend I had a chance to work on some of the past All That Scraps challenges. This one is for ATS #40 Shades of Green. I was trying to stay away from the St Patty's day theme, since that was an obvious choice - I went with a good luck card, ok kind of still a St Patty's card, but oh well.

I love this card! I got the CC Designs Hunny Bunny stamp set and a couple of Copics in my latest order and I couldn't wait to use them. I love this bunny - he is so adorable! I colored in the nose and ears and used my Copic Ciao C1 marker around it. I made the 4 leaf clover by using the heart out of the Sugarplums Sentiment set - I think it turned out great! Then I ran to my computer and printed out the sentiment. I love this card - did I already say that?!

You can find my "Good Luck Bunny" card on SCS - HERE

Stamps: CC Designs Hunny Bunny and Sugarplums Sentiments
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss DSP
Inks: Black StazOn and Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Scallop Square Punch,
Square Punch, Dimensionals and adhesive

ATS Challenge #30

This card is for the All That Scraps Design Team Challenge #30 - a gift card holder. I thought about how to make this for a long time and then I saw this cute card by Roxy at "Stamping with Roxy" and thought that I could make a really cute gift card holder using that type of card.

I wanted it to be a birthday gift card holder, since that is the time that we usually hand out gift cards. I went straight for It's my Birthday stamp set. I find that I use this set quite often - I love this stamp in particular, this puppy is just so cute sitting amongst all all the packages! Let me know what you think.

You can find my "Birthday Gift Card Holder" on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs It's my Birthday and SU On the Spot Background
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango,
Whisper White and Hawaiian Papaya DSP
Inks: Black StazOn, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango,
Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punches,
Dimensionals and adhesive

This is what the inside of the card looks like. You can see the gift card is attached using a band adhered to the back of the card.

ATS Challenge #38

This one is for All that Scraps Deisgn Team Challenge #38 - use faux postage. There is tutorial for the postage stamps on SCS - HERE. I have never done this before and I really like how my card turned out.

I once again used my It's my Birthday stamp set - I told you that I really liked this set. I thought that the birthday cupcake was a perfect fit in the stamps. I colored the cupcake and added a little glitter to the tops to give them a little sparkle. I then grabbed was my Sugarplums Sentiments set for the "Happy Birthday", which was a perfect fit for the edge of the postage stamp. When I made this card I had intended it to be for a guy, but with the sparkle and ribbon I should probably send it to a gal. Just to let  you know, my hubby said it would be fine to send to a guy - what's your thought?

You can find my "Postage Birthday" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs It's my Birthday and Sugarplums Sentiments

ATS Challenge #35

Here is the last one for today - WHEWW! This one is for Challenge #35 - dress up your Valentine Treats over at the All That Scraps blog.

I got the images for this project from an image swap with my blogging buddy Rachel over at "My Cardstock Creations". I knew that this cupid from the Hey Cupid stamp set would make the perfect topper for this 2 - 5 - 7 - 10 box (you can find the tutorial for this on SCS HERE). I only had a couple of the X's and O's circles, so I cut them in half and used them to partially around the circle - even though I didn't have enough to go completely around the image, I really like how it turned out.

You can find my "Valentine Treat Bag" on SCS - HERE.

ATS Challenge #12

Here is another card I made for the All That Scraps Design Team Challenge. This one is for Challenge #12 - another color challenge.  I had lots of fun with this one. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to create the background and then I went to town punching holes in the scallop medallion. I wanted one of the "Happy Birthday's" to be pink, but I got carried away and before I realized it, it was too late. I still like how it turned out.

You can find my "Holey Cupcake" card on SCS - HERE.

Paper: Kraft, Pink Passion, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla
Ink: Always Artichoke, Pink Passion and Only Orange
Accessories: Circle Punches, Paper Piercer, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Scallop Nestabilities, Dimensionals and adhesive

Change it up Tuesday #23 & All That Scraps Challenge #31

I combined this weeks "Change it up Tuesday" with another challenge. I have told you that I have been trying to play catch up on all the past All That Scraps Design Team Challenges. Since I used their stamp set by CC Designs: It's My Birthday on my old card I decided that this would be the perfect time to incorporate their Challenge #31 - a color challenge - into a "Change it up Tuesday" card. I really like how the "Change it up Tuesday" card turned out, but I think I am a little partial to the first one I did - that's one of my favorite color combos!

My old card - "Inchie Cupcakes" details can be found on SCS HERE

My "Change it up Tuesday" card - "Inchie Cupcakes - Take 2" details can be found on SCS HERE.

* * Since Rachel at My Cardstock Creations was my only comment on my last "Change it up Tuesday" post, she will receive last weeks card. You will have another card from me in your mailbox real soon Rachel! * *

How to play: Take a card you previously created and only change the colors used. The layout and the stamped images should remain the same. Then leave me a comment where your cards are located or if you upload to SCS use keyword CIUT23 (Gallery HERE). For fun, I will pick from those commenting (with or without a card) on Monday (2/23) and I will send you my "Change it up Tuesday" creation. Have fun and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

ATS Challenge #36

I got a chance this weekend to make a card for the current All That Scraps Design Team Challenge #36. This challenge was to use the paper piecing technique. I love how cards turn out using this technique, but for me it is a little time consuming. Although this time Alexa was interested in doing this too. I will post her stab at it at the end of this post.

For this card I used CC Design Stamp Sets - My Rubber Ducky. I thought that is was the techinque would be perfect for this bear in the towel. I just wanted to let you know that I used Soft Sky ink on the bubbles and then covered them with Crystal Effects to give them a little shine. I think it turned out so cute!

You can find my "Relaxing Bear" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs My Rubber Ducky
Paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
 and assorted DSP
Inks: Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Oval Punch, Brad,
Chocolate Chip Poly-twill Ribbon, Crystal Effects,
Dimensionals and adhesive

As promised, here is Alexa's Paper Piecing Technique. She did all the stamping, cutting and piecing of the bear. When I asked her about the bear's pink hand she said "that he is holding a sudsy bar of soap and there are bubbles all over his hand - that's why I left it pink MOM." For those of you who know Alexa, she sounded just as you imagine - that "MOM, why are you asking me that silly question" reply.

ATS Challenge #7

I worked on another past challenge that was issued by the All That Scraps Design Team. This one is #7 - a Color Challenge one of my favorite types of challenges.

For this color challenge I inked up for the first time my "My Rubber Ducky" stamp set. I don't know why I don't use it more often, it is so gosh darn CUTE! I decided that since I wanted to use the "Squeaky Clean" saying on this that I should make the bath tub move back and forth. I just imagine it squeaking as you move it. Anyway, the Groovy Guava cardstock is sandwiched between the image piece and the Chocolate Chip cardstock with dimensionals allowing it to move. I added the ribbon as the pulls. I also added a little crystal effects to some of the bubbles to give them a little shine. You can't really tell that from the picture - sorry! I hope you enjoy this one! I like it a whole bunch.

You can find my "Squeaky Clean Monkey" on SCS - HERE.

ATS Challenge #29

I have completed another past challenge from the All That Scraps Design Team. This one is #29 - a color challenge. I had lots of fun with this one. I have seen many cards made by using the circles for a "texturized" background. I love they way this technique looks and I have always wanted to try it - so a punching I went! I printed the words on the Soft Sky "There's no sneaking around it..." and put the bear from the Bear Hugs stamp set just barely peaking out like he is sneaking up on you. The inside it says "I know it's your birthday!" I think it turned out really cute!

My "Sneaky Bear" card can be found HERE on SCS.

Stamps: CC Designs Bear Hugs
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla
Inks: Timber Brown StazOn and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Circle punch and adhesive

ATS Challenge #4

am slowly playing catch up with all the All That Scraps Design Team Challenges. Here is my submission for Challenge #4 - A Gate Card. When I first saw this challenge I thought "a what?" So I looked at the examples and got on SCS to find a tutorial - once I did that I thought "ok, I can do this.  So here is how my very first - and not the last gate card turned out.  I LOVE this card!

This is the outside. I used my Scallop Rectangle Nestibilities to make a Bashful Blue and the Certainly Celery panels. Then I used two different sizes of hole punches to make the "see through"  spots. I added the ribbon tab to use as a pull and finished it off with the adorable monkey from the Summertime Fun stamp set. The second picture is of the inside. It says "The day just floated by. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!"
I wrote the words in Word and used the color values for the Bashful Blue color that I found from StampMonkeys. You can find it HERE. I hope you like the card as much as I do!

ATS Challenge #3

I have decided that I am going to start working on past challenges that the All That Scraps Design Team has issued. I am extremely far behind, but in time I hope to catch up to the more recent challenges. A few of the reasons I decided to do this is because I absolutely LOVE the CC Designs stamps, I love shopping at the All That Scraps online store and all the ladies on the Design Team are so talented. Check them all out at the All That Scraps Blog. I am hoping to learn some things from them by completing these challenges as well.

I could not find the information for challenges 1 and 2, so I am starting with Challenge #3 a color challenge - this one goes all the way back to June. I have almost 7 whole months of check up to do - YIKES! I had a hard time with the Summer Sun. I find it so BRIGHT and that it overtakes the card if used too much. That's why I only used it on the presents - it gives it a pop of color amongst all the browns and greens. I used my paper piercer and then folded that edge over so I could give a peak of the DSP on the inside. Besides that everything is pretty simple. Enjoy!

You can find my "Presents Puppy" card on SCS - HERE

Stamps: CC Designs It's my Birthday
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Kraft and Wild Wasabi DSP
Inks: Black StazOn, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi and Summer Sun

ATS Challenge #24

I thought to myself when I saw that this week's Design Team challenge (#24) over at All That Scraps - oh no! I tend to stick to cards and every once in a while I decide to try something new. Well, if you saw yesterday's post, I got ambitous and made a treat box to send to my Dad for Halloween. I was proud, but then I hopped over to All That Scraps and saw this:

GASP!! I have been challenged to make another box! So with out a word I printed out the tutorial and thought - I can do this, I can do this (are you picturing the little engine that could). I sat down at my desk and surprised myself.

As I was putting the base of this little box together I decided to create and advent box. So, once again that adorable little bear from CC Designs Bear Hugs got called on. As I have mentioned before I have a very limited number of stamps by CC Designs, so I had to be a little creative. If you look closely - I used the face shape of the bee in that set to make the tree. I think it came out really cute. Just a side note - the candy cane and the Santa hat are from the Dress up Lily set by Pink Cat Studio.

I printed the "picture" and then used my Nestibilities to make the frame shape. Then I just daubed on color and made it look like a real frame. I was surprised how well it came out.

For the inside of the box, I really didn't decorate it. What I thought was to write a little poem - with the help of my wonderful hubby -  to put at the bottom. So when you finished up all the goodies on Christmas Eve there it would be to remind you (as if you would need reminded) of what's to come.

Here's the poem in case you can't read it from the picture:

If you emptied this box right,
Then tonight's the night.

That big guy in red with a beard of white
Will sneak down your chimney and stay out of sight.

He will leave your gifts beneath the tree lighted bright
For you and your family to see at first daylight.

So be sure to sleep tight and have a good night
For the morning will bring you pure delight.

So that's about it. I do ask if you use the poem to please only use it for personal use and not for submissions/paid publications. On a happier note - if you do use it let me know, I would love to see what you do!

Whisper White and Old Olive DSP
Inks: Black StazOn, Close to Cocoa, Real Red and Chocolate Chip

I will be back later with my Thankful Thursday! Enjoy and let me know what you think.

ATS Challenge Card #23

I love these All That Scraps Design Team Challenges! Every week it is something new to keep me on my toes. This weeks #23 is a color challenge and I have to say that these are always a favorite on my list. The colors reminded me of Christmas, so of course that's what I had to do.

I am limited on the number of CC Designs Stamps, but I found a way to make the little Bear from the Bear Hugs set into a Christmas scenario. I took out my Scallop Circle Nestabilities and my Cuttlebug to create the wreath around the bear. Then I thought that the wreath looked a little plain, so here is where I got creative. I used the little fish from the Summertime set to make the branches. I think that you don't notice them so much unless you stare at them, but I could be wrong. What do you think? The rest is pretty simple. Enjoy!

Playing catch up

I have been slacking with some of the challenges I normally try to do. So, I decided last night when the kids were sound asleep in bed to get caught up on all the All That Scraps Design Team Challenges. I am posting them separately so I can link them to the appropriate spots. Scroll down to enjoy them all!
