A few Flood Swap Cards - Part 4

So here are the last of the Flood Swap cards I received for my month - January. I received them a while back, but I just realized that I didn't post them. So here they are:

From Jennifer - this set is slowly working it's way  to being one of my favorite sets. I love the colors on this card - so pretty!

From Cindy - I love the simplicity of this card. I always forget that you can use DSP in this way and it looks so pretty.

Thanks again ladies for all the cards. I miss the excitement that I got when I opened that mailbox during the month that I was flooded. Thanks again for such a great and fun swap!

Thankful Thursday #23

Another late post - the day has gotten away from me once again. I have been busy with laundry and working on some swap cards amongst all the other crazy things that occur on a daily basis around here and realized that today is "Thankful Thursday" day. So for this edition, I am thankful for:

"A little quiet time"

Brad has taken the kiddies and I have a little quiet time to myself. It seems like I can never get enough of that type of time, although I love my kids and my wonderful hubby dearly, there is something to say for the quietness while they are away. I only need about a hour to regroup, then I miss them like crazy! So, I am thankful for a little quiet time - and now I am off to find out what fun those three cuties are up to.

Feel free to leave a comment on what you are thankful for - I would love to know! Until next time, take a moment to think of something you are thankful for, then smile!

Just a little side note - the image is located on a church website. I love the picture and here is the link if you want to check it out - HERE.

Sister's Purse Color Challenge #20

For this weeks "Sister's Purse Color Challenge" #20, Becky picked this bag, which I think has a kind of retro feel to it. It is so her style, not mine. I tend to stick with the brown and black colored bags, but these challenges has really opened my mind to other colors. There are a few that I wouldn't mind having, but I just can't imagine spending all that money on them just to use them once and have them sit in the closet. Anyway, when I checked the information for this particular bag it wasn't there. They do however have it available in black and red - so if that's your fancy you can find the info on eBags.com or HERE.

Color  to be used this week:
Whisper White, Basic Black and Pink Passion

You can add a neutral if you like,
but it's not necessary.

I wanted to start with a white base since this bag is mostly white, but I had a hard time leaving all the Whisper White so I added the Basic Black and Pink Passion stripes at the end. I like how it turned out. You can find this "Lovely Stem" card on SCS HERE.

Stamps: Oh, So Lovely
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black and Pink Passion
Inks: Basic Black and Pink Passion
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Corner Rounder Punch,
Paper Piercer and adhesive

* * There has once again been a delay in Becky's card. I will have to find out what happened and I will post it when I receive it. * *

Want to play along?: Leave us a comment on this post where your card is located. If uploading to SCS please use the keyword SPCC20 (Gallery HERE) for this weeks entry, so we can find your card quickly. We will pick our favorites and post them with next weeks challenge. Should be lots of fun!

Purse Challenge Participant #2

A couple weeks ago my Mother-in-Law sent my challenge out to her wonderful group of stampers and she had one participant to join in, but asked me not to post until she gave her card to her mother. Well, that time has pasted and here is Karen's card.

Thanks Karen for participating. Your card is GORGEOUS! I am sure you mother loved it.

Want a surprise?

I love all the things Rachel shows off on her blog "My Cardstock Creations" and she is doing this creation giveaway to the first five people to respond to her post. Since I would love to receive something she has made, I signed up, but the only way for me to receive something of hers is for me to do the same for five people as well. So, the first five people to sign up on this post will receive a creation by me!

Here are the details and the "fine print":
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done sometime this year (since I don't like to procrastinate, it will most likely be done this month)
4. You will have no clue what it's going to be.
5. The catch (you know that there is one of those). You must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first five people to comment and post the details and fine print on their blog will get a SURPRISE from ME!

Go ahead - why not play along - at the least you will get a wonderful surprise from me!

Change it up Tuesday #25

For this week's "Change it up Tuesday" entry I took the card I thought I would make one of the cards I sent to my February Floodees. I really like the first card and I will admit I am not too happy with the "Change it up Tuesday" one. I think if I get a little time today, I will make another one and this week's commenters will get them both.

My old card - "Blue Flower Thanks" details can be found on SCS HERE.

My "Change it up Tuesday" card - "Blue Flower Thanks - Take 2" details can be found on SCS HERE.

* * Congrats to Paula at "Stampin' Mad" who will be receiving last weeks - #24 - "Change it up Tuesday" card for leaving a comment. Paula - please send me your snail mail address (nottus_2@yahoo.com) and I will get the card out to you. Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to get this week card(s)!  * *

How to play: Take a card you previously created and only change the colors used. The layout and the stamped images should remain the same. Then leave me a comment where your cards are located or if you upload to SCS use keyword CIUT25 (Gallery HERE). For fun, I will pick from those commenting (with or without a card) on Monday (3/9) and I will send you my "Change it up Tuesday" creation. Have fun and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

A gift from Olivia!

This months "My Message Follower" was so sweet and has given me this for being one of her Top 10 Favorite Blogs.  Thank you Olivia, you are so kind.  You can and should check out her blog "Olivia's Creative Quest".

I will too, pass this along to 10 blogs I enjoy and get so many excellent ideas from. Please check out these lovely ladies sites - they have so many great ideas and interesting things to share.

Olivia (of course I had to pass it back) at "Olivia's Creative Quest"
Tegan at "Swiftly Created"
and last but certainly not least, Clouds at "Clouds' Color Garden"

He's 3!

Ben's birthday was Saturday and we had a huge cowboy party for him (and his cousin who turned 1). All the family came and we had a great time. I just can't believe how fast the time has gone by and how big he has gotten. So there is no card to post today, just the birthday boy!

Happy Birthday Benny!

What a crazy day!

What a crazy day yesterday was! I am sorry that there was no "Thankful Thursday" post, but we were so busy all day that I hardly had time to breathe. We spent the day running in and out visiting schools for Alexa for Kindergarten. Where we are you get to pick a school (School of Choice - they call it), but it is really you pick a school and we'll see if there is room enough for your child to fit in. Long gone are the neighborhood schools so I learned. It was so frustrating and will continue to be until we figure out where she will attend. I may have to look into homeschooling - we shall see.

Anyway, since there was no post yesterday I wanted to be sure to get one up today. This is a card I made a while back, but never posted - I have no reason why. I love this card and this stamp set is one of my all time favorites. Enjoy!

You can find my "To You" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes and Best Yet
Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss DSP
Inks: Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: White Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer and adhesive
