Thankful Thursday #24

Even though it was a bit chaotic today, I found myself appreciating and being thankful for: 

"Laughter"

Especially the laughter of my children. Alexa and Ben had a few friends over this afternoon to play and they all got so tickled over "Knock Knock" jokes. It wasn't a regular type of "Knock Knock" joke, it was ones that they were making up. For example - Knock Knock, Who's There, Silly Socks - and they would all fall on the floor laughing hysterically. I sat back and just listened to them laughing without any other care in the world. Sometimes laughter makes everything seem so much better.  What made you laugh today?

It was a BIG Day!

It was a BIG day at our house yesterday. Alexa has had this loose tooth for about 3 weeks now and I told her that if she could get it out yesterday (Tuesday) that I would go get her Barbie Thumbelina. She is the type of girl that had to work towards a goal - Ben however, nothing motivates that boy he will forever be in diapers. Anyway, she worked and worked at it all day. She even came to me several times yesterday to wiggle it. We wiggled and wiggled and I could tell that she was getting discouraged, but just before bath we gave it one last wiggle and wouldn't you know . . .

Guess I am going to the store today to get Barbie Thumbelina.

* * Just a note - right after I posted this Ben asked to wear his Thomas the Train underwear. I nearly fell off my chair, but we have been almost 5 hours and no accidents. Could we have a breakthrough? I'll keep you posted. * *

Sister's Purse Color Challenge #21

I have talked to Becky and she is having a lack of inspiration, that's why she has not had any cards to post. I wish her well and that the inspiration comes back quickly, because it's just not the "Sister's Purse Color Challenge" without her. 

This weeks purse was one that I chose. I really like this Brighton Lily Tote bag. I wish I had an extra $155 laying around, because I think this is one bag I would use on a regular basis and not just leave it hanging in the closet. You can find the details on Zappos.com or HERE for a direct link.

I did an image swap with my blogging buddy Rachel from "My Cardstock Creations" and she sent me some adorable images of little girls. They all remind me of Alexa, so you will see when I post the cards I made that each has blonde hair. Of course, I had to color the boots Garden Green as I love green. When Alexa saw the card she said that I need a pair of boots like that for my birthday and I totally agree. Let me know what you think! Don't mind the smudge mark - I made this card for Alexa and I told her she could see it before I took the picture and, well, you know kids.

Change it up Tuesday #26

I was getting ready to post this weeks "Change it up Tuesday" and I noticed that I forgot to do the paper piercing on my card for this week - UGH! I hate it when that happens, which has been more frequently than not these days. I guess I just am in a hurry lately - or I could be way to busy. Anyway, that's why there was such a delay. So I am in shortage of birthday cards, so that's why I picked this card. Enjoy and let me know what you think of the new colors.

Some Faux Stitched Cards

It's been a while since I posted some cards, so prepare to be flooded with three today! I joined in a Favorite Techniques Swaps and I picked a faux stitching technique to do. I will say that it is not one of my favorites, but I had wanted to try it and thought that this swap would force me to try it out. I do like how it looks on other talented peoples cards, but I just can't seem to get it to really work for me. Here are three that I made and I decided on the last one to send in for the swap. Birthday Pictures

Remember I shared this pile of things and I told you I was getting things ready for Ben's Birthday. Well, I thought I would share what I made from those stacks. Brad's mom was so kind to share her pictures and here is one of the cupcake toppers we made. 

The rest of the decor consisted of some garland that hung from the lights and fireplace and a BIG birthday sign. I don't have too many pictures of those. Since I was busy being a hostess, I gave the camera to the hubby and let him take the pictures and needless to say, there weren't too many of the pretties, just the cute birthday boy! Speaking of the birthday boy - I wanted to share this cute picture too!

He was drinking the melted ice cream off his 

plate with the straw. So cute!

A few Flood Swap Cards - Part 4

From Jennifer - this set is slowly working it's way  to being one of my favorite sets. I love the colors on this card - so pretty!

From Cindy - I love the simplicity of this card. I always forget that you can use DSP in this way and it looks so pretty.

Thanks again ladies for all the cards. I miss the excitement that I got when I opened that mailbox during the month that I was flooded. Thanks again for such a great and fun swap!

Thankful Thursday #23

Another late post - the day has gotten away from me once again. I have been busy with laundry and working on some swap cards amongst all the other crazy things that occur on a daily basis around here and realized that today is "Thankful Thursday" day. So for this edition, I am thankful for:

"A little quiet time"

Brad has taken the kiddies and I have a little quiet time to myself. It seems like I can never get enough of that type of time, although I love my kids and my wonderful hubby dearly, there is something to say for the quietness while they are away. I only need about a hour to regroup, then I miss them like crazy! So, I am thankful for a little quiet time - and now I am off to find out what fun those three cuties are up to.

Sister's Purse Color Challenge #20

For this weeks "Sister's Purse Color Challenge" #20, Becky picked this bag, which I think has a kind of retro feel to it. It is so her style, not mine. I tend to stick with the brown and black colored bags, but these challenges has really opened my mind to other colors. There are a few that I wouldn't mind having, but I just can't imagine spending all that money on them just to use them once and have them sit in the closet. Anyway, when I checked the information for this particular bag it wasn't there.
