Change it up Tuesday #29

For this week's "Change it Up Tuesday" I decided to try my hand at making this "cute" baby gift card holder again. I thought that since the first one was for a girl, I would make a gender neutral one this go around. I got the initail idea from this card from Robin over at "About a Girl". You can find her tutorial for it HERE. Enjoy!

My old card - "Baby Gift Card Holder" details can be found on SCS HERE

My "Change it Up Tuesday" card - "Baby Gift Card Holder - Take 2" details can be found on SCS HERE.

* * I am so happy to see all the comments on last weeks "Change it Up Tuesday" post! I decided that since you all were so kind to leave a comment that I would send you each a card. I need Jessi and Rachel over at "Stampin' with Jessi and Rachel" to send their snail mail addresses (nottus_2@yahoo.com). I will send all the cards out this week sometime! Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to get this week card!  * *

How to play: Take a card you previously created and only change the colors used. The layout and the stamped images should remain the same. Then leave me a comment where your cards are located or if you upload to SCS use keyword CIUT29 (Gallery HERE). For fun, I will pick from those commenting (with or without a card) on Monday (4/06) and I will send you my "Change it up Tuesday" creation. Have fun and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Want to win a little something?

I just wanted to post a reminder that I will pick from those commenting on THIS post that I posted on March 23rd, to win a little something from me! Deadline is April 1st - I or the kids will draw and post the winner on the 2nd! Please do not leave a comment here on post as you will not entered to win and I don't want anyone to miss out. I will give you a hint to what the prize is - it's from one of my favorite places!

ATS Challenge Card #42

I got to play along with the All That Scraps Design Team again for their Challenge #42 - a white on white challenge. I usually don't have a problem with the amount of white space on cards, but, boy this one drove me nuts! I tried this cute little Raincoat Girl from CC Designs Gingersnaps Spring Thing! stamp set directly on the white cardstock base and thought that it was missing something, but when I reached for another piece of white cardstock to try something different I found that I had NONE - YIKES! I decided that I would try to salvage the card by adding the scalloped border of YoYo Yellow cardstock. I hope that it still fits into the challenge - like I said, I found this one a little difficult. I added crystal effects to the rain gear to give it the "plastic" look that they have. All in all, I love how this card turned out! Enjoy!

You can find my "Raincoat Girly" on SCS - HERE

Stamps: CC Designs Gingersnaps Spring Thing
Paper: Whisper White and YoYo Yellow
Inks: Black StazOn, YoYo Yellow, Pixie Pink, Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom and Bashful Blue

One of my Favorites

This card is one of my all time favorites that I have made. I love the color combo. I love the ribbon. I love the Upsy Daisy stamp set. It was super simple to make - what's not to love about it.  I added the glitter to make the flowers sparkle like dew - I don't know what my deal is with glitter lately?! I usually hate anything that makes a big mess and is hard to clean up, but I think it adds so much to all the cards. Enjoy!

You can find my "Sparkly Flowers" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: Upsy Daisy
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss DSP
Inks: Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer, Glitter, Dimensionals and adhesive

A Birthday Card

I had gotten a few background stamps off of eBay (shhh - don't tell anyone) and I had never really used them - so I pulled this one out and made this cute birthday card to add to my stash.  I really like making the circle frames with the image off-center. I don't know what it is, but if I put it directly center I don't seem to like it nearly as much - I wonder what the says about me? Anyway, I hope you are having a great Friday! Enjoy!

You can find my "Off-center Balloon" card on SCS HERE.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes and On the Spot background
Paper: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Whisper White
Inks: Black StazOn and Blue Bayou
Accessories: Coluzzle circle cutter, Corner Rounder Punch, Brads, Dimensionals and adhesive

Thankful Thursday #26

Today we are thankful for:

"Haircuts"

Although you can't really tell from the picture, Alexa and Ben went in to the salon their hair cut today. They were so excited about it! I usually cut their hair at home and about twice a year for Alexa and once a year for Ben they get to go sit in the salon chair and have someone else do it. They are both very good about sitting still, so it made it easy on the stylist. Alexa's hair is a little above her shoulders and Ben's is buzzed down to about a half inch - nice Springtime dos. So today they are thankful for going to get their haircuts and I am thankful that I didn't have to do it!

Feel free to leave a comment on what you are thankful for - I would love to know! Until next time, take a moment to think of something you are thankful for, then smile!

I got tagged by Olivia!

I have been tagged by my "My Message Follower" for the month and the talented Olivia over at "Olivia's Creative Quest" to find the 4th picture in my 4th folder of my photo directory and post it. Well, this is what I found:

This is a picture of Ben's train track. Brad was away on a business trip and Ben wanted to show his Dad his HUGE train track. He (well I) worked really hard at putting it together and we all had tons of fun playing. As an added bonus to prove how happy he was, I thought that I should include this photo as well.

Here are 4 wonderful blogger's that I am tagging!

Rachel over at "My Cardstock Creations"
Brandi over at "Yankee Belle Stamper"
Robyn over at "Rainbows by Robyn"
Jennifer over at "Jennifer's Blog"

Have fun and I can't wait to see those photos!

Sister's Purse Color Challenge #23

Today's "Sister's Purse Color Challenge #23" is brought to you by this adorable computer sleeve by Lucky Brand. If I had a laptop that I needed to carry with me I would definitely look into getting this one. I may have to do some sweet talking to my hubby, but I am sure he would agree that it is totally a must have to protect that very expensive piece of equipment. (I have to say it's a protector, I don't think he would go for "but it's so gosh darn cute and I really need something cute to carry my laptop in.", right?) You can find the details on Zappos.com or HERE if you are in a hurry.

Color  to be used this week:
Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Real Red, So Saffron and Pretty in Pink

You can add a neutral if you like,
but it's not necessary.

This card is pretty simple. I used another cupid from the CC Designs Gingersnaps Hey Cupid stamp set. I finally broke down and ordered this set since I have been enjoying the images Rachel sent me so much! I was hopping they would appear in my mailbox today - but nope, maybe tomorrow! I added the glitter to the wings once again, just because I really liked how it made them "pop" on the way the last one I made. Enjoy!

You can find my "Cutie Cupid" card on SCS HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs Gingersnaps Hey Cupid
Paper: Real Red, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Real Red DSP
Inks: Basic Black, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Blush Blossom
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Crystal Effects, Glitter, Dimensionals and adhesive

* * Becky has yet to find her creative mojo - if you see it please send it to her. I am not having fun playing all by myself. * *

Want to play along?: Leave us a comment on this post where your card is located. If uploading to SCS please use the keyword SPCC23 (Gallery HERE) for this weeks entry, so we can find your card quickly. We will pick our favorites and post them with next weeks challenge. Should be lots of fun!

ATS Challenge #41

This is post 1 of 2 today - so scroll down to see today's "Change it Up Tuesday".

I was able to play along with last weeks All That Scraps Design Challenge #41 - use ribbon, before they issued the next challenge - HORRAY! I really wanted to use the new Spring Things stamp set for this. I love this little girl with the bunny ears - it reminds me of this picture I took of Alexa when she was two for Easter. Isn't she adorable?!

For some reason when I saw that the challenge was to use ribbon I thought that the fence would be so pretty with a bunch of ribbon decorating it. I cut out and tied ribbon around every other post - I did have yellow and green ribbon on there for a split second, but decided that I just liked the pink and went with that. The cute little girl has a paper pieced shirt using the DSP that I used as the background. I wanted to find paper similar to the shirt that Alexa was wearing, but I just didn't have anything that matched. The girl and the fence folds down and and that is where I will write the note - I already know who I am sending this too! Enjoy!

You can find my "Spring Bunny" card on SCS HERE

Stamps: CC Designs Gingersnaps Spring Thing
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Whisper White and Pretty in Pink DSP
Inks: Black StazOn, So Saffron, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Pale Plum, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue,
Blush Blossom, Going Gray and Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Sponge (for sky), Dimensionals and adhesive

Change it up Tuesday #28

For this weeks "Change it Up Tuesday" post I went with one of the cards I sent to the Floodees in the Flood Swap I am in. I really liked this card, but I have to admit - I am totally in LOVE the new card! The DSP I picked this time is very bold and not as subtle as the first and all the colors just fell into place so easily. Which do you prefer?

My old card - "Simple Swap Card" details can be found on SCS HERE.

* * I am so sad that there were no comments on my LAST "Change it up Tuesday" post. Olivia over at "Olivia's Creative Quest" is getting another card! I love sharing my cards, so be sure to leave a comment for your chance to get this week card!  * *

How to play: Take a card you previously created and only change the colors used. The layout and the stamped images should remain the same. Then leave me a comment where your cards are located or if you upload to SCS use keyword CIUT28 (Gallery HERE). A few more Thank You notes

I hope you all had a GREAT weekend. We had a wonderful one - nothing too exciting, just hanging out and playing mostly. I wanted to share a few more "Thank You" cards with you today. I made these some time ago and never got to posting them - so why wait any longer! They all were pretty simple to make, no bells or whistles this time around.

This first one I made as a part of the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS a long time ago. I saw this card by Liz (LazyLizard) and thought that I would give it a go. This was the first time I had ever done the Feature Stamper challenge on SCS. They all do such an awesome job on their cards, that I find it a bit intimidating to "recreate" them! So anymore I just browse through their galleries and admire their works. I did not use the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots on the background, I just used a polka dot stamp and I did change the image stamped to the flower instead of the cherries.

You can find my "Inspired Thank You" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: Polka Dot & Paisley and Short & Sweet
Paper: Whisper White, Pink Passion and Basic Black
Inks: Pink Passion and Basic Black
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals and adhesive

I made this card for Stephanie over at "Steph's Stampin' Stuff". I had won some blog candy that she was giving out and I wanted to send her a "Thank You" for it all. I have and still am enjoying it all - there was quite an assortment of things. Thanks again Stephanie! If you have not checked out her blog, please do so! She is very talented and has some wonderful things to share!

You can find my "Winnings Thank You" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: Thank You Kindly
Paper: Kraft, Really Rust and Pattern Paper
Inks: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, American Craft Ribbon,
Hemp Twine and adhesive

This last "Thank You" is one I made for no one in particular, yet. It is in my stash, so one of my lucky Message Followers may receive it - who knows! This Trendy Trees stamp set is making it's way onto my Favorite Stamp Set list. I love how it is so simple to get out and make a cute little card in a few minutes. What's your favorite stamp set? Let me know and I will send one commenter a little something! Drawing closes 11:59pm April 1st, the kids will pick sometime April 2nd.

You can find my "Thanks So Much" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: Trendy Trees
Paper: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss DSP
Inks: Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals and adhesive

I hope you all have enjoyed the cards. Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!

A Note of Thanks

Stampin' Up! has this new stamp set out called Fifth Avenue Florals - it's very pretty and I have seen some gorgeous cards (SCS Fifth Avenue Florals Gallery) made with it. I, however, do not own it (yet), but I do have a stamp set that is very similar that I made this card with. Take a look at the gallery and let me know what you think.

You can find my "Floral Thanks" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: Mixed Bouquet and Thank You Kindly

Inky Impressions 1st Design Team Call

I don't exactly remember how I came across Nicole's "Inky Impressions" blog, but I knew immediately that I wanted to get my hands on her cute little girl stamps (based on her girls) that she has designed. I was bummed when I found out the they weren't available yet, but I became a follower so I could get them once she had them for sale. As I was checking in the other day I saw that she had issued a Design Team Call - so off I went to gather all the details and make my cards for submission.

For my cards, I wanted to make one for my son and one for my daughter as my submissions. This one is, of course, for Ben - my little cowboy! I used the Little Buckaroo stamp I got on sale at Hobby Lobby for the first time for this card. I colored the image with my markers - direct to paper - and added the textures to the card by just using the marker on top of the coloring to make them a deeper color. I stamped the "Howdy" with my VersaMark Ink Pad and then traced over it with a Basic Black Marker to give it the stitched look. I love how the coloring on this card came out!

You can find my "Cowboy Ben" card on SCS - HERE or on Paper Craft Planet - HERE.

Stamps: Little Buckaroo and SU Cowboy Kid
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Real Red and Whisper White
Stamp Pads: StazOn Black, Real Red, and Versa Mark
Inks: SU Markers - Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Blush Blossom, So Saffron, Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Basic Gray, Going Gray, Basic Black and Sahara Sand; Copics - Ciao Cool Gray C1
Accessories: Brocade Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Brads, Dimensionals and adhesive

For my card for Alexa, I wanted to show more of a water-coloring technique, so I picked out this Little Bo Peep image for her. I stamped it with my StazOn Black stamp pad and pulled out practically every shade of green and blue I had to color the image. I then made a mask of the image and covered it so I could do the sky. I punched a scallop circle and sponged Bashful Blue on it to make the clouds. This was the first time I have ever tried this and I am very pleased with how it came out. I hope you enjoy it!

You can find my "Bo Peep for Alexa" card on SCS - HERE and on Paper Craft Planet - HERE.

Stamps: Little Bo Peep and Finishing Touch
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip
 and Whisper White
Inks: StazOn Black, SU - Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Garden Green, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Bordering Blue, Bashful Blue, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink;  Copics - Ciao Cool Gray C1
Accessories: Brown Satin Ribbon, Vintage Lace Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, Sponge, Dimensionals and adhesive

I hope you enjoyed the cards and even if I don't make the Inky Impressions Design Team I had lots of fun making them!

Thankful Thursday #25

I am thankful today for not one, but two things:

"A Babysitter"
and
"Date Night"

Tonight Brad & I have got a babysitter lined up and are taking a MUCH needed Date Night. I am unsure exactly what we are doing as we have yet to really decide, but I do know that I will be having a quiet dinner accompanied by a wonderful man! What do you do when you have a night away from the little ones?

* * Edited to add - Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time! We enjoyed our dinner at Ko-Fusion, a sushi restaurant, and a nice brisk walk into and out of Target! It was lots of fun hanging out with the just hubby! * *

Feel free to leave a comment on what you are thankful for - I would love to know! Until next time, take a moment to think of something you are thankful for, then smile!

Sister's Purse Color Challenge #22 & ATS Challenge #33

For this weeks "Sister's Purse Color Challenge" Becky picked this purse. I thought it was funny because I am adding to our list and she sent me some of her favorites and this one was one of them. Since we make the list so far in advance it is hard to remember what we've done andwhat we haven't - so it is kind of a surprise for us each week as well.  So on the the purse information. You can find this cute spring bag on Baghaus.com, or HERE for a direst link. Right now they have a sale on the same style of purse only different color for $25 for a savings of $45 - WOWSERS!

Color  to be used this week:
Only Orange, YoYo Yellow,
Pink Pirouette and
Whisper White

You can add a neutral if you like,
but it's not necessary.

I once again dove into the stash of images that Rachel sent me. I am so in love with all the CC Designs Stamp Sets! It doesn't seem to matter what Christine and the other gals comes up with, I feel I have to have them all.  I try hard to limit myself, oh but it is so difficult - hence why I asked Rachel to send me some of her images! Go check out all the cute things over at the All That Scraps online store!

For this week's card I used this cute little angel on a cloud from CC designs stamp set Gingersnaps Hey Cupid! The card is pretty simple - I just colored and highlighted the image, cut it out with my Coluzzle cutting system and put it all together. I paper pierced the YoYo Yellow oval and did the faux stitching technique - which was a challenge by the All That Scraps Design Team(#33) and used my corner rounder punch to give the Only Orange oval the scallops. For a finishing touch I put glitter on her wings, which you can see on the up-close picture. Alexa loves this card - she wants me to make another one just for her! Enjoy!

You can find my "Sweet Angel" card on SCS HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs Gingersnaps Hey Cupid
Paper: Only Orange, YoYo Yellow,
Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

* * There has once again been a delay in Becky's card. Hopefully she will find her creative Mojo soon and play along. * *

Want to play along?: Leave us a comment on this post where your card is located. If uploading to SCS please use the keyword SPCC22 (Gallery HERE) for this weeks entry, so we can find your card quickly. We will pick our favorites and post them with next weeks challenge. Should be lots of fun!

Change it up Tuesday #27

Here it is, time for another Change it up Tuesday. I can't believe how many of these I have done. I really enjoy changing the colors of my older cards to see how they turn out. Nine times out of ten I like the older card better, but occasionally I surprise myself. This weeks card is one I did way back in July for one of Kristina Werner's Color Inspirations. I wanted to make it using Spring colors this time around. Enjoy!

My old card - "Simply Shabby" details can be found on SCS HERE.

My "Change it up Tuesday" card - "Simply Shabby - Take 2" details can be found on SCS HERE.

* * Since no one commented on my LAST "Change it up Tuesday" post. I am going to send the card to "My Message Follower" for this month - Olivia over at "Olivia's Creative Quest". I love sharing my cards, so be sure to leave a comment for your chance to get this week card!  * *

How to play: Take a card you previously created and only change the colors used. The layout and the stamped images should remain the same. Then leave me a comment where your cards are located or if you upload to SCS use keyword CIUT27 (Gallery HERE). ATS Challenge #40

This is the first of a four posts today, so be sure to scroll down and see them all. Over the weekend I had a chance to work on some of the past All That Scraps challenges. This one is for ATS #40 Shades of Green. I was trying to stay away from the St Patty's day theme, since that was an obvious choice - I went with a good luck card, ok kind of still a St Patty's card, but oh well.

I love this card! I got the CC Designs Hunny Bunny stamp set and a couple of Copics in my latest order and I couldn't wait to use them. I love this bunny - he is so adorable! I colored in the nose and ears and used my Copic Ciao C1 marker around it. I made the 4 leaf clover by using the heart out of the Sugarplums Sentiment set - I think it turned out great! Then I ran to my computer and printed out the sentiment. I love this card - did I already say that?!

You can find my "Good Luck Bunny" card on SCS - HERE

Stamps: CC Designs Hunny Bunny and Sugarplums Sentiments
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss DSP
Inks: Black StazOn and Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Scallop Square Punch,
Square Punch, Dimensionals and adhesive

ATS Challenge #30

This card is for the All That Scraps Design Team Challenge #30 - a gift card holder. I thought about how to make this for a long time and then I saw this cute card by Roxy at "Stamping with Roxy" and thought that I could make a really cute gift card holder using that type of card.

I wanted it to be a birthday gift card holder, since that is the time that we usually hand out gift cards. I went straight for It's my Birthday stamp set. I find that I use this set quite often - I love this stamp in particular, this puppy is just so cute sitting amongst all all the packages! Let me know what you think.

You can find my "Birthday Gift Card Holder" on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs It's my Birthday and SU On the Spot Background
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango,
Whisper White and Hawaiian Papaya DSP
Inks: Black StazOn, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango,
Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punches,
Dimensionals and adhesive

This is what the inside of the card looks like. You can see the gift card is attached using a band adhered to the back of the card.

ATS Challenge #38

This one is for All that Scraps Deisgn Team Challenge #38 - use faux postage. There is tutorial for the postage stamps on SCS - HERE. I have never done this before and I really like how my card turned out.

I once again used my It's my Birthday stamp set - I told you that I really liked this set. I thought that the birthday cupcake was a perfect fit in the stamps. I colored the cupcake and added a little glitter to the tops to give them a little sparkle. I then grabbed was my Sugarplums Sentiments set for the "Happy Birthday", which was a perfect fit for the edge of the postage stamp. When I made this card I had intended it to be for a guy, but with the sparkle and ribbon I should probably send it to a gal. Just to let  you know, my hubby said it would be fine to send to a guy - what's your thought?

You can find my "Postage Birthday" card on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs It's my Birthday and Sugarplums Sentiments
Paper: Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa,
Whisper White and Summer Picnic DSP
Inks: Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, Only Orange and YoYo Yellow

Dimesionals and adhesive

ATS Challenge #35

Here is the last one for today - WHEWW! This one is for Challenge #35 - dress up your Valentine Treats over at the All That Scraps blog.

I got the images for this project from an image swap with my blogging buddy Rachel over at "My Cardstock Creations". I knew that this cupid from the Hey Cupid stamp set would make the perfect topper for this 2 - 5 - 7 - 10 box (you can find the tutorial for this on SCS HERE). I only had a couple of the X's and O's circles, so I cut them in half and used them to partially around the circle - even though I didn't have enough to go completely around the image, I really like how it turned out.

You can find my "Valentine Treat Bag" on SCS - HERE.

Stamps: CC Designs Hey Cupid
Paper: Pink Passion, Whisper White and Valentine Patterned paper
Inks: Black StazOn, Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion, Barely Banana,

Here is the Card Set for Jennifer!

I told you to look for this post and here it is. Jennifer, whom I have gotten to know through the flood swap I signed up for, signed up on THIS post to receive a surprise from me. Here is the card set I sent her - I made a box for the cards as well, but forgot to take a picture before I sent it to her.

You can find all of the cards in this Card Set on SCS - HERE.

I also made her 4 more cards for the set that were "Thinking of You". They are like this one only using the same colors and images as the ones above.

Thanks Jennifer for participating and for being a great blogging friend!

Edited to add - Jennifer was kind enough to send me this picture to show you the box I sent with her cards. Thanks again Jennifer!

March's Flood Swap Cards

Here are the two cards I sent out to this month's floodee's. The "Purple Thank You" I sent is also for another swap that I am in, so I just made 24 of them instead of just 20. It was simple just to add a few extra on to those, than to try to come up with another card. For the other card, I decided to make a birthday card, since I am in the middle of a birthday card shortage. I made 4 for the floodee's and added 2 to my stash. I hope you enjoy the cards. I really thought that they were cute this time.

Stay tuned to a later post as the "Purple Thank You" card is part of a set I sent to the Flood Swap Organizer for signing up on THIS post. If you are interested in your own surprise from me sign up and follow the directions!
